Own YOUR truth

The moment you do this, there’s almost nobody that can put a hold over you. Sometimes, we do things that we cringe when we remember them. We may have done some things we are not proud to let others know. But Yorubas have an adage that says, mase l’ogun mamo (the antidote to not letting others know, is not doing it at all). Once you’ve done whatever it is, be rest assured that it may come out someday. If you’re now a popular figure, be certain that some people’s mission in life is to dig up dirt on you. So, once you know this…you’ll realize that there really is nothing that stays hidden forever. It is important to remember that actions have consequences and we sometimes pay a heavy price for our actions sometimes.

Own your truth. Let nobody shame you with it. Once you own it, there’s not much those dirt diggers can do to you. You sent a nude to someone and it got leaked? Own your truth.
This is Nigeria where the first insult they throw around for women is slut shaming. Where successful women often get their success ascribed to sex. If it was that easy, then more than half of women should be at the top.

Actions in life often have consequences but if you’ve done it, own your truth. Nobody can shame you with it once you do that. You’re above them all. Own it and then do better (if you want to). No human being is infallible.
