Health education and advocacy

In this part of the blog, we will be talking about conditions from other systems apart from the skin. It may either be in form of a story to make it more understandable or in form of general health tips.

Did you know that it is important for your cardiovascular health to do regular exercise? Depending on where you live in Nigeria, you may be looked at like ‘what’s chasing this one’ when you’re doing your regular 30 minutes brisk walking or jogging. Pay them no mind as your cardiovascular system will thank you for it. You don’t need to become Usain Bolt to do keep fit. Studies have shown that brisk walking and jogging have the same effect on the cardiovascular system so don’t stress out.

Of all the vices known to man, smoking is the one that has little or no benefits. Cut out the cigarettes if you can. It would be tough especially if you’ve been smoking for a long time but with determination, it can be achieved.

Easy does it on the alcohol. A little red wine, they say helps the heart. A little…not one bottle every two days .

As cliché as it sounds, it is very important to drink lots of water, eat a balanced diet with fruits and vegetables. Please note that not just efo riro, edikaikong or ofe owerri qualifies as vegetables.  Cabbage and lettuce are also vegetables.

If you have been diagnosed with any chronic ailments such as diabetes or hypertension..please TAKE your medications. Don’t fall into the wrong hands. If it feels too good to be true, it probably isn’t true.

Health is wealth they say….and it is only in the absence of it that you realise how much you’ve taken it for granted. Take care of your health in the best way possible. You’ll be glad you did!

  1. You actually make it seem so easy with your presentation but I find this topic to be really something that I think
I would never understand. It seems too complicated and very broad for me.
I am looking forward for your next post, I will try to get the hang of it!

  2. Thanks a lot for the helpful article. It is also my opinion that mesothelioma cancer has an particularly long latency time period, which means that signs of the disease might not exactly emerge until finally 30 to 50 years after the original exposure to mesothelioma. Pleural mesothelioma, which is the most common type and has effects on the area across the lungs, could potentially cause shortness of breath, breasts pains, along with a persistent cough, which may produce coughing up body.
