Beware of the ‘spirit’ that accompanies money.

If you want your relationship/friendship to last (whether a romantic one or a platonic one), be careful of the ‘spirit’ that accompanies money. Money matters have destroyed more relationships than we care to admit. Relationships even between parents and their children have become irreparably damaged because of money. If you have a situation where there’s a transaction that involves money in a relationship that you value, be as transparent and accountable as possible. You’ll be surprised at how Medusa shows up once money is involved.

If you asked to borrow it  – Return it. The two closest men to me are my husband and brother while the closest women are my mother and sister. When I borrow from them, I always ensure I return it. Not to talk of friends.
If you wanted a cash gift ab initio, be upfront about it. Don’t call it a loan if that was what you wanted right from the start.

Then finally, don’t let money take over your life and relationship. Don’t take it too seriously. If you’ve borrowed someone close to you money and they don’t return it…and its someone that you value the friendship, you can decide to let it go. It may be hard, but sometimes letting it go brings more peace. You’ll just know that may be the last time you’re doing that. As a rule, I usually don’t lend an amount I can’t let go of if the person doesn’t return it.

Money has a ‘spirit’ and sometimes it destroys irreparably. Don’t damage that great relationship you have because of it. Be accountable and be transparent in your dealing with your loved ones when it comes to money that involves you both.

  1. Absolutely. Transparency is key. It can be shocking when someone owes you money and they suddenly become someone else entirely because it’s time to pay up.

  2. I seriously love your website.. Very nice colors & theme.
Did you make this website yourself? Please reply back
as I’m hoping to create my very own website and would love to find out where you got this
from or exactly what the theme is called.
    Thank you!

  4. I’ve been surfing online more than 4 hours today, yet I
never found any interesting article like yours. It is pretty worth
enough for me. Personally, if all site owners and bloggers
made good content as you did, the internet will be a lot more useful than ever before.

  5. Today, I went to the beachfront with my kids. I found a sea
shell and gave it to my 4 year old daughter and said “You can hear the ocean if you put this to your ear.” She placed the shell to her ear
and screamed. There was a hermit crab inside and it pinched her ear.
She never wants to go back! LoL I know this is entirely off topic but I had to tell
    someone!

  6. Aw, this was an incredibly nice post. Taking a few minutes and actual
effort to generate a good article… but what
can I say… I put things off a lot and never manage to get nearly anything done.

I’m having some small security problems with my latest site and I’d like to find
