Resentment and the pain it brings

I see a lot of older people around bottling up so much resentment. Resentment for years lost with no hope of being regained. A lot of bottled up bitterness for the sacrifices made at the expense of others. They say ‘experience is the best teacher’…but I strongly believe that it doesn’t have to be your own personal experience. You don’t have to go through it to learn from it.

By all means…live and love with reckless abandon. For what is love…if not given wholeheartedly? Love is anything but selfish. In loving another however, the greatest disservice you can do for yourself is to forget to love you.

Give wholeheartedly but do not forget yourself. Be it your spouse, siblings, children, family or friends…Do not ever forget yourself as a person. So that you can look back and know that you have lived life on your own terms.

In helping others to grow…never ever forget you. Don’t be part of the bandwagon that say..’I gave my all, yet I was let down’. The only person that can never let you down,…is yourself. So why neglect you?

Live. Love. Laugh. Give. You only have this life now… Give it your best shot.
